Emily Thrasher,
a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, is a soprano best known
for her interpretive expression and musicality on stages in Colorado,
Nevada, and Southern California.
Emily's most recent operatic performance was with Nevada Opera Theatre where
she appeared as Musetta in La Boheme and was praised as the highlight of the
production. Denver audiences have seen Ms. Herrera as Barbarina in
Le nozze di Figaro, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Musetta in La Boheme and, most
notedly as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi. With the Boulder Philharmonic,
she was a featured soloist in Rossini's Stabat Mater and sang Gretel in
Hansel and Gretel in conjunction with Opera Colorado. Emily was a
finalist in the Rehfuss Singing Actor Awards of Orlando Opera in May of 2000
as well as in Western
States Region of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions of 1999.
She placed second in the MONC Auditions Western States Region all three
years of 1995, 1996 and 1997. Emily was most recently a featured soprano in the original cast of the
Venetian Character Program where she sang, acted in improvisational
situations, juggled, and danced her way into the hearts of smiling guests of
the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Venetian Character
Program was hailed as being the Best Free Entertainment on the Strip in Las
Vegas Review-Journal in March 2000.
